Is The Skin GP Sydney a Dermatology Service?

The Skin GP Sydney offers primary care dermatology services. We act as a bridge between ‘standard’ general practice and specialist dermatology consultation.

We are specialist GPs who have undergone further training in diagnosing and treating skin conditions commonly seen in general practice settings. We are not dermatologists. If we think we need further expert opinion from a dermatologist, we will refer you to one of our colleagues.

What kind of conditions do you treat?

We treat all kinds of skin and hair conditions that commonly present in primary care settings. This includes eczema, acne, psoriasis, skin cancer checks, mole removals, skin tag removals, hair thinning and loss, rashes, perimenopause and menopause associated skin changes, vulval skin conditions, skin biopsies, and more.

Where can I find the fee schedule?

Please note we are a private billing clinic and we request payment on day of service.

Do I need to book a skin check before having a procedure done, for example a mole removal?

Yes. In order to ensure we are treating your condition in the best way possible, we require every patient to have a skin assessment before going ahead with any procedure. This is to ensure we diagnose correctly and treat appropriately.

I have booked a skin tag or needle-free mole removal. What do I need to do to prepare?

Please phone reception or speak to your doctor to be given instructions. Needle-free procedures require application of local anaesthetic creams at least 45 minutes before your procedure. This cream needs to be prescribed by your doctor and it will be sent before your procedure.

What is your cancellation policy?

48 hours notice is required to cancel all appointments. In the event of a late cancellation within 48 hours, or a no show, the full fee of your appointment booked will be charged to the card on file upon booking.

Why do I need to enter my credit card details when making an online booking?

We require a credit card to be on file to guarantee your booking. This will be charged the full fee of missed appointment in the event of a no show or late cancellation.
